Goole Town Tigers U15s 7 Colton Juniors 1
Tigers carried on their recent excellent form last Saturday to make another huge statement to the chasing pack.
Despite missing a couple of players Goole started the brighter with the majority of the play. Jackson and Pedro were excellent down the flanks with Jackson’s trickery winning a corner on the right midway through the first half. Jackson took the corner to the far post to find Broadley whose fine header found the back of the net to give his side the lead. Goole’s back four of Allan, Williams, Pablo and Helm weren’t really troubled throughout and in possession played out from the back with ease. Helm found himself inching further forward with every attack and got himself in oceans of space on the edge of the box only to see his trusty right foot let him down for once with his effort sailing over the bar. Robertson was next to try his luck bringing a fine save from the visitors’ keeper.
Goole again started the second half the brighter and, after some great work from Gibbon, Allan found Robertson whose excellent cross was headed home by Revell at the far post. This spurred the Tigers into wanting more and goals came thick and fast. Pedro picked out Pablo from a corner who made no mistake with a powerful header. Robertson continued to be a handful and forced his way through to finish to make it 4-0. Pedro again took a corner and picked out Leo Mollan who climbed highest to head home to make it five. Gibbon then made it six from a fine cross by Proctor. Good work from Tobey Mollan at the back set Goole on another attack with Pedro again finding Robertson who made no mistake to make it seven. Goole let their concentration drop towards the end to let the visitors steal a late consolation goal but an overall excellent performance from the Tigers saw the game finish 7-1.
